Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
There’s nothing better than celebrating the holidays surrounded by your friends and family. Sharzad Imani of CountDown Events would like to give you a few pointers on how to host a stress-free, yet elegant party that will leave your friends and family inspired and impressed.

The Invite
Introduce the elegant theme of the evening with unique iced blue and steel colored invitations embellished with a few Swarovski crystals or white pearls. Your guests will be so excited and impressed by your attention to the little details.

Set The Scene
Decorate the room to create a glamorous, wintery feel with cool whites and metallic accents. Fill tall glass cylinders with silver pinecones and silver miniature disco balls, white ostrich feathers, or white birch branches with hanging white orchids. Cover the coffee table with a white faux fur piece or white-feathered boas along with pillar candles diverse in height and encased in beautiful hurricane vases. Scatter bowls of white chocolate covered roasted almonds around the room, and as guests arrive; offer them a tall glass of lychee mint champagne cocktail served on a shiny silver tray.

The Menu
Offer your guests tasty but simple riffs on classic hors d’oeuvres. Try smoked salmon dipped in dill on pumpernickel strips, crab stuffed mushrooms, crostini with white truffle oil, olive paste, & lavender, and black truffle mac & cheese, taking a new twist on an old favorite by using casareccia pasta. For extra dazzle points, spoil your guests with a finale of retro treats like coconut covered marshmallow lollipops and white cotton candy.

The History of Crème de la Crème!

Since the conception of our show in 2004, our guests and exhibitors have delighted in the themes of Crème de la Crème Grand Wedding Showcase. A themed event inspires the creativity of all involved and that has certainly been the case with our shows! Today, as we are just three days away from the most opulent event of 2009, we want to take a walk down memory lane and look back on some of the highlights of our past shows!

2004: The premiere Crème de la Crème Grand Wedding Showcase was crowned "Russian Winter" and the guests at our inaugural show were treated to vodka and caviar, opera, and "The Czar's Mistress" - our signature cappuccino created especially for the day! The beginning of something extraordinary!

2005: "Liaisons Dangereuses" transported our brides to a Parisian-themed day, filled with seduction, glamour and extravagance! The Vancouver Club, our host in 2005, was transformed into a romantic French Boulevard as we brought in French street lamps and created our own mini Eiffel Tower!

2006: Our obsession for perfection was manifested in "Dream"! Our wonderful guests were treated to full-scale pampering, delectable delights and mini-makeovers at our new home: the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

2007: A major highlight from "The Gold Standard" was the swinging chair, cascading with flowers, which hung from the ceiling amidst the dazzling chandeliers! We were proud to introduce Vancouver's first-ever haute couture fashion show!

And now...to the future...just 3 days away...

"True Romance" - This year's theme is for romantics! A bold & dramatic theme taken to a whole new level. Prepare yourself to be completely blown away by our amazing exhibitors, bountiful special treats and the dramatic Twilight table! This year's fashion show will be our most spectacular yet!

The countdown to another historic event is on!
